entry 2: the list

If there is one thing I've learned about love, no matter how many boundaries you set or the lists you craft in your head….’I want someone who is” This or that…

It all goes out the door when that one person walks into your life.

You set up all the rules for how you want to show up different when you meet your next person, and without any hesitation, you break them all.

You can't remember the ache after your last heartbreak or why you ever had your guard up. An instant memory wipe of all the doors that slammed in your face before this person entered.

You might as well shout 'Doors unlocked!' because they walk right in as if they own the place. No knocking or ringing the bell, no invitations—making themselves feel right at home.

You find yourself hoping they overstay their welcome—a missing piece in your home you didn't know you needed, priceless decor.

You had no agenda for love in the books, no time to spare, yet somehow, you managed to make space because this moment in time was reserved just for them.

Despite running low on sleep,  you stay up talking for hours anyway because reality is so much better than your dreams.

You didn’t even know what you wanted till it was right in front you.

You can throw out that list now.
